The Black Fly Open Golf Tournament was founded in 1992 by Ken Smith (1935-2006) and has been held annually ever since.
When the English-born Ken moved to Andover in 1985, he brought with him a hefty dose of compassion, business-sense, and a love for the game of golf. It was his passion for golf and a desire to assist local businesses, through his involvement with the Lake Sunapee Business Association (now the LSRCC) that evolved over the years into a super networking event and fundraiser, which today is known as the Black Fly Open. The 2006 BFO was dedicated to Ken.
As you may know, this BFO tournament greatly benefits the Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce, whose mission is to promote and support business activity throughout the Lake Sunapee Region.
