The Altius String Quartet returns to New London on Thursday, August 9 at 7:30 PM at the First Baptist Church on Main Street. Last year, this young and vibrant quartet brought the cheering audience to its feet at intermission. Andrew Giordano, Violin; Joshua Ulrich, Violin; Andrew Krimm, Viola; and Zachary Reaves, Cello form the Altius Quartet which is an ensemble determined to further the art of chamber music through performance, education, and outreach. Hailed as "rich" and "captivating,” the Altius Quartet is garnering an international reputation and enrapturing the hearts of audiences through their charisma, dynamism, and superb musicality. The evening’s program will include Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 3 in D major; Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8; and String Quartet No. 14 in D minor, “Death and the Maiden” by Franz Schubert.
